Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026.
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes activities that are prohibited on the Coveton platform operated by Hutytech ICT Resources Limited. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. Because Coveton is zero-knowledge and we cannot read your content, enforcing this policy depends heavily on reports and on metadata-level abuse signals.
1. Prohibited activities
You and anyone using your account or organization must not use the Service to:
- Break the law: store, transmit or facilitate content or conduct that is illegal, including child sexual abuse material, content that exploits or endangers minors, or material that violates export, sanctions or other applicable laws.
- Harass or harm others: threaten, stalk, harass, defame or incite violence against any person or group.
- Distribute malware: upload, transmit or link to viruses, ransomware, spyware or other malicious code.
- Attack the platform: probe, scan, penetration-test without authorization, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or disrupt the Service through denial-of-service or similar attacks.
- Circumvent security: bypass or attempt to bypass authentication, access controls, encryption, billing or other protective measures.
- Evade rate limits: exceed, circumvent or attempt to defeat documented rate limits or fair-use thresholds, including through automation or distributed requests.
- Send spam: use the Service to send unsolicited bulk messages, phishing or other deceptive communications.
- Infringe rights: violate intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights of others.
- Attack other users: use the Service to target, deceive, defraud or compromise other Coveton users or organizations.
- Resell without authorization: resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties as a service without our written permission.
- Misrepresent or interfere: impersonate others, falsify metadata, or reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law.
2. Enforcement
We take reported and detected violations seriously. Depending on severity, we may issue a warning, throttle or restrict functionality, suspend or terminate accounts or organizations, revoke API access, remove the ability to send messages, or report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities. We may act immediately and without prior notice where there is a serious or ongoing risk to people, the platform or other users.
3. Reporting abuse
If you become aware of activity that violates this policy, report it to security@coveton.com. Please include enough detail for us to investigate. Because we cannot read encrypted content, reports that include context (such as account identifiers, timestamps or screenshots you are authorized to share) help us respond effectively.
4. Consequences
Violations of this policy are violations of our Terms of Service. They may result in suspension or permanent termination of access, forfeiture of fees, and legal action. You remain responsible for the conduct of everyone using your account or organization.
