Yes. The Free plan gives individuals and small groups unlimited end-to-end encrypted messaging and voice notes at no cost, with up to 2 linked devices and 500 MB of encrypted media storage. Text messages are tiny, so the storage limit really only applies to photos, videos and files. Pro unlocks calls, tamper alerts (screenshot, copy and forward notifications), unlimited devices and much more storage.
Encrypted media (photos, videos, voice notes, files) is stored as ciphertext so it can sync across your devices. Because we pay for that cloud storage and never offset it with ads, each plan includes a fair media allowance: 500 MB on Free, 20 GB on Pro, 500 GB per user on Business, and custom on Enterprise. You can upgrade at any time, and most media also lives on your own devices.
It means Coveton has no technical ability to read your messages. Encryption keys are generated and held on your devices; our servers only ever see encrypted ciphertext. Even under subpoena, we cannot produce readable conversation content because we never possess it.
